Position: Nurse (LPN or RN)

At Fast Pace Urgent Care, nurses provide clinical and administrative support essential for effective patient care under the direct supervision of a Provider, Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant. They provide outstanding patient service, maintain a compassionate and welcoming atmosphere, and respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment. The Nurse position will provide effective customer service for all internal and external customers by using excellent in‑depth knowledge as well as communicating effectively with team members.

Responsibilities Primary Responsibilities
  • Ability to fulfill all responsibilities of the Patient Care Specialist and Scribe position as detailed in the specific Job Description.
  • Maintain friendly, cordial relations with all employees, building confidence and credibility.
  • Deliver clinical and administrative support for the team and adhere to all policies and procedures of the company.

  • Ensure that all Nurse activities are consistent with department expectations and compliant with federal and state regulations, including HIPAA.
  • Prepare exam and treatment rooms for patient intake.
  • Triage patients by checking vitals, performing blood draws and giving injections.
  • Observe patients, chart changes in condition, including adverse reactions to medication or treatment, and take necessary action.
  • Assist with lab testing and phlebotomy.
  • Assist providers in preparing for minor procedures and physicals.
  • Prepare and maintain supplies and equipment for treatment.
  • Assist patients utilizing a Virtual Medicine Provider.
  • Ensure accurate completion of patient charts in a timely manner and forward charts as appropriate daily.
  • Arrange referrals to specialists and obtain pre‑authorizations when directed by the Provider.
  • Perform federal and non‑federal DOT, BAT and Drug Screen exams.
  • Welcome new employees, facilitate introductions, clinic tours, and overview of processes.
  • Assist new employees with learning activities and required training.
  • Support new employee training by providing job shadowing, demonstrations and coaching opportunities.
  • Perform physical functions as specified on the physical demands.
  • Maintain overall cleanliness of the office to support a professional appearance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Secondary Responsibilities
  • Assist with clerical work such as checking in patients and recording demographic, insurance and financial information with strong attention to detail.
  • Verify insurance eligibility and relay relevant information on payment policies and billing/collection processes.
  • Answer telephone calls, take messages and return voicemails in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Additional requirements and responsibilities by level:
    • Level 1:
      High School Diploma or equivalent with a current CPR license and at least 1 year of experience as a certified LPN in a clinic setting.
    • Level 2:
      Certified LPN with a current CPR license and either (a) 3 years’ experience in a relevant role and 1 year of Fast Pace experience as a Nurse or (b) 4 years’ experience in a relevant role; or Certified RN with a current CPR license and either (a) 1 year’s experience in a relevant role and 1 year of Fast Pace experience or (b) 2 years’ experience as a Nurse.
    • Level 3:
      Certified LPN with a current CPR license and either (a) 5 years’ experience in a relevant role and 2 years of Fast Pace experience or (b) 6 years’ experience in a relevant role; or Certified RN with a current CPR license and either (a) 3 years’ experience in a relevant role and 1 year of Fast Pace experience or (b) 4 years’ experience as a Nurse.
