Description
St. Anthony High School is actively seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to serve as the Head Coach for our Varsity Girls Volleyball for the 2026 Fall season.
We aim to build on our momentum in a highly competitive Del Real league. The ideal candidate will have a clear, strategic vision for the program and a plan for where they see St. Anthony Girls Volleyball in the next three years.
Requirements- Lead and coach the Girls Varsity Volleyball team and program.
- Develop and implement detailed practice plans, focusing on skill development and game strategies.
- Assist with team evaluations, drafts, and game/practice scheduling for both JV and Varsity teams.
- Collaborate with the coaching staff to prepare practice and game plans.
- Ensuring clear communication with athletes.
- Maintain a professional relationship with students, parents, staff, and officials.
- Oversee and support the Girls Volleyball staff, ensuring smooth operations and effective teamwork.
- Foster a positive and inclusive environment for all student-athletes, promoting their development both on and off the courts.
- Previous head varsity coaching experience in girls volleyball at the high school or collegiate level is highly preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of girls volleyball techniques, strategies, and rules.
- Excellent communication skills to engage effectively with students, coaches, parents, and school personnel.
- Strong leadership qualities, with a focus on the holistic development of student-athletes.
- Experience working with diverse groups of student-athletes and a commitment to creating an inclusive environment.
- Previous experience in organizing and managing sports programs is preferred.
- CPR/First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain prior to the season.
- A deep commitment to the educational values of the school and the academic success of student-athletes.
- Prior coaching experience at the high school or collegiate level is preferred.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Girls Volleyball, including rules, strategies, and techniques.
- Ability to foster positive relationships with athletic administrators, athletes, parents, and fellow coaches.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage time effectively.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends for practices and games.
- Adherence to all school policies and alignment with the school’s mission.
- Spring Season:
April and May with practices TBD. - Summer Season:
June to early August. Two weeks off for summer dead period. - Fall Season:
August to October. After school for practices and matches. - Work Location:
In-person hony High School, Long Beach, CA.
The compensation for this position ($5,000) will be determined based on internal pay policies and available budget. New hires typically begin at the minimum of the wage range or at the lower end, with factors like experience, training, and skills influencing the final offer.
