Job Description :
Pay Range: $25hr - $35hr
- The Maintenance Technician is responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing building systems and equipment to ensure safe and efficient facility operations.
- This role includes performing routine inspections, responding to maintenance requests, coordinating with contractors, and maintaining records of mechanical systems and safety equipment.
- Completion of a technical degree or apprenticeship.
- Experience as an operations and maintenance stationary engineer or maintenance mechanic.
- In-depth knowledge of maintenance fundamentals required to perform service and repairs.
- Ability to perform physical maintenance tasks including climbing ladders, working in confined spaces, and lifting heavy objects.
- Ability to work varying shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, or forklifts when required.
- May be required to possess a valid driver s license.
- Strong teamwork skills and commitment to maintaining a quality work environment.
- Ability to learn and work with different building systems including HVAC, electrical systems, and building controls.
- Perform regular inspections of assigned facilities to ensure proper equipment operation.
- Record and maintain maintenance records for all mechanical equipment within facilities.
- Inspect and document the condition of fire extinguishers and emergency lighting.
- Test and treat water systems used for heating and cooling.
- Respond to routine and emergency work orders submitted by customer departments.
- Coordinate with external contractors performing required inspections and testing.
- Work collaboratively with other trades personnel to complete maintenance tasks.
- Inspect and repair building systems including HVAC units, elevators, escalators, water heaters, electrical systems, plumbing, lighting, smoke detectors, fire control panels, generators, and other facility infrastructure.
- Knowledge of low voltage systems or programmable logic controllers.
- Experience with building management systems.
- Knowledge of building security systems including cameras and access control systems.
- Advanced trade skills in HVAC, electrical systems, or plumbing.
- Trade certifications related to facility maintenance.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
