Required (mobile service vehicle provided).
The Repair Lead oversees mobile service operations for piston-engine aircraft across assigned regions. This role is responsible for technical leadership, quality control, and field service coordination while performing hands-on inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs at customer locations. The Repair Lead ensures safe, compliant, and customer-focused support aligned with Diamond Aircraft standards.
Responsibilities- Technical & Operational Leadership
:
Serve as the primary field lead for mobile repair operations in the region. - Oversee workflow planning, prioritization, and service call assignments.
- Perform advanced troubleshooting and repairs on airframe, engine, and systems.
- Provide on-site guidance to technicians and apprentices.
- Maintenance & Repair
:
Conduct scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on piston aircraft (Lycoming, Continental). - Complete AOG troubleshooting and recovery.
- Perform functional checks, tests, and run-ups.
- Ensure maintenance documentation meets regulatory and company standards.
- Customer Service
:
Act as primary customer contact during on-site visits. - Explain findings, repair steps, and recommendations.
- Represent the company professionally at all times.
- Safety, Compliance & Quality
:
Ensure adherence to CARs/FAA standards, AMMs, and ICAs. - Audit documentation from technicians and apprentices.
- Maintain safe work practices in the field.
- Support continuous improvement of field procedures and training.
- Required
- Valid A&P License (or equivalent experience accepted regionally).
- 5+ years of aircraft maintenance experience, including piston-engine platforms.
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and work outdoors
- Ability to work independently, and under time pressure.
- Preferred
- Experience with Diamond, Cirrus, Piper, or Cessna piston aircraft.
- Prior experience in a field/mobile service role.
- Prior supervisory or lead experience.
- This position has a starting pay range of $37.00 to $48.50 per hour. Actual starting pay is determined by a number of factors, including relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.
