In this role, you’ll support and lead a team of Field Safety Advisors in the Employee and Contractor Safety (E&CS) Northwest team who develop and maintain safety standards, programs, and policies. All levels of Edison Safety management play a critical leadership role in supporting the execution of SCE’s safety goals, the progression of our safety culture, and in providing for the safety oversight of all employees and contractors.

Responsibilities- Lead the organization and serve as a safety technical expert; provide guidance and influence to specific organizations safety programs, policies and procedures
- Act as the safety conscience of the company supporting specific organizations front-line leaders, with intimate understanding of their operational needs, and build and maintain effective relationships to influence safety culture improvement
- Prioritize work to align and support Edison Safety and specific organizations’ goals for an injury‑free workplace; partner with front‑line leaders to identify and mitigate factors that can lead to injuries, serious injuries, and fatalities
- Coach team and front‑line leaders on safety, reinforcing desired behaviors and providing guidance to address unsafe behaviors; deepen knowledge in work processes and educate them in methods that reduce risk
- Lead Safety Advisors by setting clear and actionable goals and driving results through empowerment and accountability
- Implement the Safety Support Plan, SME to specific organizations leadership, APM, work policies, audit responses, safety related initiatives
- Support cause evaluations, OU partner leadership teams, safety forums and congresses, advise on policy and procedure changes
- Guide specific organizations inquiries & inform decisions based on safety rules, policies & industry standards
- Review safety data, observation outcomes, corrective actions, operational compliance, training, culture, safety messaging
- Develop high‑performing teams by meeting commitments and achieving results; collaborate with organization leadership to align effort and integrate work
- Serve in an emergency response role as part of the Company’s Incident Management Team in supporting crisis response, including periodic on‑call reporting during day, night, and weekends as emergencies arise
- Guard the protection of physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and manage private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records and other highly sensitive information with the highest standards of conduct and integrity
- Five or more years of combined experience performing or supervising safety functions
- Experience and skills in Electrical Utility craft, safety, or compliance programs, activities, or systems
- Valid Class C Driver’s License
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Environmental, Engineering, Business, Safety, or related field
- Completion of Electrical Utility Craft Apprenticeship Training
- Knowledge of CAL/OSHA and other governmental regulations related to the electric utility industry
- Experience participating in safety investigations, determining root causes, and recommending solutions
- Certified Utility Safety Professional (CUSP) or other applicable safety certifications
- Experience performing analyses and making recommendations for improvements in work methods
- The position’s work mode is hybrid. Employees will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.
