Rie Les Group is seeking multiple experienced Registered Respiratory Therapists (RRT) and Registered Respiratory Therapists – Polysomnography Certified who are interested in working in the Long Beach, CA area. Position SummaryThe Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is seeking four (4) qualified Registered Respiratory Therapists to provide comprehensive respiratory and sleep medicine services to Veteran patients in inpatient, outpatient, and sleep laboratory settings. These positions support critical respiratory care operations and diagnostic sleep services across VA medical facilities.
- Core Responsibilities (All Positions):
- Provide respiratory care, including oxygen therapy, aerosol therapy, and airway management
- Perform arterial blood gas (ABG) sampling and interpretation
- Manage invasive and non-invasive ventilation systems
- Conduct pulmonary assessments and patient evaluations
- Respond to emergency respiratory situations (Code Blue, Rapid Response)
- Educate patients on respiratory equipment and treatment plans
- Accurately document all care in the VA electronic health record system
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary clinical teams
- Perform overnight polysomnography (PSG) diagnostic studies
- Conduct CPAP/BiPAP titration studies
- Set up, calibrate, and troubleshoot sleep diagnostic equipment
- Monitor, score, and report sleep study data
- Identify sleep disorders including obstructive sleep apnea
- Provide patient education on sleep therapy and compliance
- Standard RRT Positions (2 Openings)
- Full-time – 40 hours per week
- Coverage in 8-hour or 10-hour shifts based on facility needs
- Typical shifts may include:
- Day: 6:30 AM – 2:30 PM
- Evening: 2:30 PM – 10:30 PM
- Night: 10:30 PM – 6:30 AM
- Rotational weekends and federal holidays
- On-call coverage may be required for emergency services
- Polysomnography RRT Positions (2 Openings)
- Full-time – 40 hours per week
- Primarily overnight sleep lab coverage
- Typical schedules include:
- 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (3–4 nights per week)
- or 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM (5 nights per week)
- Includes weekends and federal holidays
- Limited daytime duties; role dedicated to sleep medicine operations
Required for All Positions
- Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential (NBRC)
- Active, unrestricted state license
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in respiratory care
- BLS certification (ACLS preferred)
- Additional for Polysomnography Positions
- RPSGT or equivalent sleep certification
- Prior experience in sleep lab or sleep medicine environment
- Serve U.S. Veterans in a mission-driven healthcare system
