Assistant Colorist, Hair Color Bar
The Assistant Colorist at Madison Reed Hair Color Bar supports Licensed Colorists and the Shift Lead to provide a seamless guest experience from arrival to departure while you learn the services and work toward your next role. You love beauty and hair color and pride yourself on helping guests find the best color for them and executing services with precision. The role includes consultations, hair care products knowledge, shampooing and conditioning, blowouts, and learning to advance to a Licensed Colorist.

• Demonstrate and develop teamwork skills to provide a guest experience aligned with our values of Love, Joy, Trust, Courage and Responsibility.
• Assist behind the chair with finishing services, shampooing and conditioning, styling, blowouts, hot tool styling, treatments and toner services, and add-on product applications per guest request.
• Contribute to achieving monthly sales goals and other KPIs, including retail sales, services, and memberships.
• Ensure Hair Color Bar meets company standards for cleanliness, merchandising, inventory, and asset security.
• Adhere to Madison Reed systems, policies, processes, and procedures.
• Drive Hair Color Bar revenue through increasing the average service ticket and promoting unlimited roots memberships, subscriptions, home hair care, and more.
• Learn and progress toward becoming a Licensed Colorist through Colorist-to-Colorist training, mastering color theory, and developing behind-the-chair application skills.

• Active cosmetology license in the state where applying.
• Entry-level experience in customer service or retail; salon or beauty industry experience preferred.
• Effective communication, problem-solving, and people skills in a fast-paced retail or salon environment.
• Comfortable operating point-of-sale systems
• Fluency in English

Regularly stand and walk for extended periods; repetitive bending and twisting; manipulate fingers and hands; reach with arms; may lift up to ten pounds. May also sit, kneel, stoop, crouch, and push/pull up to ten pounds. Ability to communicate with guests via ongoing conversations and consultations.
