General Responsibilities
As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will support both predesign and design phases on small to medium sized projects, which may include a mix of commercial and institutional buildings or be dedicated exclusively to healthcare facilities. During the design phase, you'll perform energy modeling using tools like Energy Pro or IES VE, develop single-line diagrams and load schedules, design lighting systems and controls, and engineer normal, emergency, and renewable power systems.
You'll also conduct Arc Flash, Short Circuit, and Coordination Power System Studies to ensure safe and efficient electrical infrastructure.
Position Requirements:
Education & Certification
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering field
- Engineer-In-Training (EIT) Certification preferred
- LEED Accreditation is a plus
- PE License is a plus
- Membership in professional engineering associations is a plus
Experience
Required:
- 3-6 years of engineering design experience post-graduation or equivalent professional experience
- Proficient in Revit and AutoCAD
- Familiarity with the California Building Code and the National Electrical Code
- Experience with Net Zero Energy/Carbon design is a plus
- Project management experience is preferred
- Strong command of Microsoft Office, Newforma, and engineering software tools
- Experience in Power System Analysis (Arc Flash and Short Circuit Coordination)
- Experience with ETAP/SKM
- HCAI experience (a plus)
