Overview

Project Engineer needs 5 years of combined experience in roles such as Field Engineer, Project Engineer, Project Superintendent, Construction Manager, or Project Manager on marine construction or heavy civil construction projects.

Responsibilities
  • Marine construction, Heavy civil construction, Field coordination, Scheduling, Production tracking, Surveying, Bathymetry mapping, Progress documentation
  • Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Construction document control, RFIs, Submittals, Change orders, Contracts, Progress payments
  • Safety compliance, MSHA, OSHA, Corps of Engineers safety policies, EM 385-1-1 requirements, Accident prevention plans, Activity hazard analyses
  • TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) and related credentialing requirements
  • Hypack role in hydrographic surveying (and related software) and hydrographic/topographic surveying experience
  • Experience with Heavy Bid and estimating for construction projects
  • Experience with USACE projects
Education
  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, Ocean Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
Licenses and Certifications
  • Must possess a valid California Driver's license and have an acceptable driving record that meets company fleet policy requirements
  • Must possess or be able to qualify to obtain a TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential)
  • Completed EM 385-1-1 training appropriate for SSHO or QC Manager roles on USACE projects
Skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD and Bluebeam
  • Proficient in construction document control including but not limited to correspondence, RFIs, submittals, change orders, contracts, and progress payments
  • Surveying experience;
    Hydrographic and/or topographic
  • Experience with Hypack
  • Experience with estimates for construction projects
Experience
  • Experience working on USACE projects
  • Experience with estimating software Heavy Bid
Physical & Safety
  • Requires walking, bending, squatting, sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and climbing to a significant degree
  • Heavy work - exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects
  • Requires the ability to communicate effectively and to climb in and out of marine equipment
