In this position you will develop, modify, and correlate physics‑based models for the charging system and high and low voltage subsystems that accurately predict vehicle performance. Your optimization will fight physics to find the most desirable outcome for the vehicle and our customers. You will work closely across functional teams to identify gains in efficiency, model/predict, and test them.
Qualifications- B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
- 2+ years of experience developing physics‑based models for high and low voltage bus dynamics, charging systems, power conversion devices.
- 1+ year of testing chargers and power conversion devices.
- High proficiency in Python, MATLAB, or Simulink.
- Masters or PhD in Electrical, Physics, or related field (preferred).
- Experience building controls strategies for HV/LV bus dynamics systems.
- Experience with Microsoft Office, Confluence, and Jira applications.
- Experience with instrumentation and measurement of homologation cycles.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.

- Create and modify tools of different fidelity for the HV and LV bus, power conversion device controls, and charging system predictions.
- Run sensitivity analyses to understand the design space and tradeoffs.
- Work closely with the power electronics, low voltage, charge port, HV, and LV electrical distribution system teams to model and improve charge times and power conversion device performance at a vehicle level.
- Create vehicle‑aligned component and system targets for function, cost, weight, and more.
- Model improvements using on‑road vehicle usage data.
- Lead and contribute to design reviews, test plans, and requirements reviews to further optimize vehicle efficiency and performance cross‑functionally.
- Enable effective communication with subsystems and other engineering teams to deliver optimal design solutions.
- Support presentation of concepts and status to senior management and other company personnel in an integration and subject‑matter expert role.
This position is a leadership level 6 and ranges from $146,520–276,600.

This position is hybrid. Candidates who are in commuting distance to a Ford hub location may be required to be onsite four or more days per week.
