This automotive company is seeking a Low Voltage Component Engineer to support 12V electronic systems across multiple vehicle programs. This role focuses on supplier engagement, validation testing, and hands‑on evaluation of low‑voltage electronic components to ensure performance, quality, and system integration readiness.
The ideal candidate brings strong electrical engineering fundamentals, experience with validation and component testing, and the ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, hands‑on test environment. This role is well suited for early‑ to mid‑career engineers with an automotive, robotics, or industrial electronics background who are eager to grow under technical direction.
This position requires working onsite in Long Beach four days per week.
Responsibilities- Support low‑voltage (12V) electronic components across multiple vehicle programs and teams
- Collaborate with suppliers to review requirements, test plans, validation results, and corrective actions
- Perform validation testing, electrical characterization, voltage drop analysis, and functional verification
- Ensure suppliers complete required testing and meet component performance expectations
- Evaluate component functionality and confirm feature performance within vehicle systems
- Test and support components including Bluetooth/BLE, UWB, NFC, audio modules, vehicle access modules, and telematics units
- Manage high volumes of components and incoming work across concurrent programs
- Provide technical clarification and hands‑on support to internal engineering teams
- Document test results, issues, risks, and supplier feedback
- Participate in scenario‑based technical reviews during the component evaluation process
- Strong electrical engineering fundamentals
- Experience with validation testing, component testing, or electrical characterization
- Familiarity with automotive and wireless communication protocols (CAN, LIN, Bluetooth, BLE, UWB, NFC, etc.)
- Hands‑on experience working in a test or lab environment
- Experience with voltage drop testing and 12V automotive systems
- Automotive background preferred (OEM, Tier 1 supplier, small vehicle, commercial, industrial electronics, or robotics)
- Open to early‑ or mid‑career engineers who may need guidance and mentorship
- Ability to work onsite in Long Beach 4 days per week
- Automotive OEM or Tier 1 supplier experience
- Experience with small electric vehicles (golf carts, utility vehicles, low‑speed EVs)
- Background in commercial/industrial electronics or robotics
- Experience testing wireless modules (Bluetooth, NFC, UWB)
