Job SummaryOur client, a leading organization in the energy infrastructure sector, is seeking a Substation Power Designer to join their team. As a Substation Power Designer, you will be part of the Engineering Department supporting high-voltage substations and transmission line projects. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach, which will align successfully in the organization.

Pay Range$125,000 - $140,000 base plus OT, benefits
Responsibilities- Develop and update detailed electrical design documents including one-line diagrams, three-line diagrams, and schematics for high-voltage substations.
- Create general arrangement layouts, equipment plans, and foundation interface drawings to ensure seamless project execution.
- Support transmission line design by developing plan & profile drawings, structure loading trees, and hardware assemblies.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including civil, structural, and procurement to integrate design elements effectively.
- Participate in quality assurance, document control, and adherence to industry standards such as IEEE, NESC, and regional utility codes.
- 8–10 years of electrical design experience in high-voltage (HV/EHV) substations and transmission line projects.
- Strong knowledge of 115–500 kV substation design, including equipment layouts, control schematics, grounding, and conduit routing.
- Proficiency in industry CAD tools such as AutoCAD, Micro Station, SDS, and PLS-CADD (preferred).
- Experience preparing plan & profile drawings, structure lists, and conductor selection for transmission projects.
- Familiarity with utility and regional standards (IEEE, NESC, WECC, California utilities).
