Salary Range: The Assistant Professor (Academic Year) classification salary is $74,652 to $158,688/year; $6,221 to $13,224/per month (12 monthly payments per academic year). The anticipated hiring range is $103,008 - $106,008/per year ($8,584 - $8,834/per month). Salary offered is commensurate with qualifications and experience.

• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Computer Engineering and conduct laboratory experiments. Instruction may be in‑person, hybrid, online, or any combination.
• Contribute to the development, assessment, and continuous improvement of the Computer Engineering curriculum.
• Engage in sustained research and scholarly activities that result in peer‑reviewed publications and external funding.
• Advise and mentor students to support their academic and professional growth.
• Provide service to the department, college, university, and broader community.

• Ph.D. in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related field. Areas of expertise may include networks and systems, IoT, embedded and cyber‑physical systems, systems‑on‑chip, computer systems and architecture, networking and communications, hardware/software co‑design and systems integration, and their applications in AI, robotics, and autonomous systems. Degree must be earned or officially conferred by August 1 , 2026.
• Demonstrated potential for effective teaching at undergraduate and graduate levels in Computer Engineering.
• Demonstrated potential for excellence in research and related scholarly/creative activities.
• Demonstrated commitment to working successfully with a diverse student population, including low‑socioeconomic and first‑generation students.

• At least two years of teaching experience in undergraduate and/or graduate level courses in Computer Engineering or related areas.
• At least one year of postdoctoral experience, especially in the areas highlighted above.
• Experience successfully working with populations demographically and/or socioeconomically similar to the CSULB student body.
• Experience mentoring or supporting students using inclusive and culturally relevant teaching strategies in a diverse classroom.

• Student Success Statement (maximum two pages, single‑spaced) describing teaching or other experiences, successes, and challenges with a diverse student population.
• Letter of application addressing the required and preferred qualifications.
• Curriculum Vitae.

• Teaching Statement (maximum 3 pages) outlining philosophy, instructional approaches, and relevant experiences including course outlines.
• Evidence of teaching effectiveness (e.g., student evaluations, peer reviews, departmental assessments), if available.
• Research Statement (maximum 3 pages) outlining past achievements, current projects, and future agenda.
