Practice Environment
Description:
Our dermatology department comprises a dedicated team that includes two full-time physicians, one full-time physician-scientist, two part-time staff physicians, and two nurse practitioners. This role includes clinical practice, procedural expertise, and academic responsibilities within a collaborative environment, working alongside dermatology residents.
- Conduct thorough assessments for acute dermatological conditions, ensuring prompt and appropriate interventions.
- Administer the admission process for patients presenting with severe or acute dermatological disorders.
- Provide continuous management for chronic dermatological diseases, including psoriasis, eczema, and skin malignancies.
Competitive Starting Annual Salary: $350,000–$400,000. Employees may be eligible to receive up to $15,000 in performance-based pay annually. Proficiency Awards are available in addition to Pay for Performance incentives. Regular salary reviews occur every two years, with cost-of-living adjustments annually.
Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm (flexibility available for negotiation).
Call Coverage: Rotating on-call coverage with a minimum of two additional attending physicians.
Academic AffiliationsUniversity of California, Irvine, Department of Dermatology. Serve as a mentor to five UCI dermatology residents, offering practical instruction and oversight during clinical procedures and evaluations.
Qualifications- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- M.D. or D.O. (Schools of Medicine Accredited by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education or Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation of the American Osteopathic Association). Foreign medical graduates must be verified by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG).
- Must possess a current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in a state, territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
- Completed Residency Training. (New Grads are welcomed!)
- Recruitment/Relocation Incentive is approved.
- Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP): This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program. A student loan payment reimbursement program; you must meet eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program approval, award amount (up to $200,000), and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application.
