QualificationsBasic Requirements
- United States Citizenship
- Doctor of Medicine or equivalent degree from an approved VA school
- Current full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in the United States
- Residency training approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty program, leading to board certification
- Board certification in Internal Medicine or relevant subspecialty with maintenance of certification (preferred)
- Proficiency in spoken and written English
- Demonstrated experience in clinical leadership, team development, and academic involvement (preferred)
- Dedicated to ongoing improvement and veteran‑centered care

Duties- Lead strategic leadership and clinical oversight for a robust department with 96+ clinical and administrative FTEs, 14 sections, and 14 specialties
- Support operational excellence, foster academic growth, and lead initiatives to advance care quality, access, and Veteran satisfaction
- Instrumental in supporting clinical operations in both inpatient and outpatient practice environments, requiring high‑level cross‑functional collaboration
- Advancing department and facility‑wide goals, including academic involvement and operational innovation
- Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases; 50‑55 days of paid time off per year; traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% VA contribution; comprehensive federal health, vision, dental, term life, and long‑term care insurance; full and unrestricted license from any U.S. State or territory; possible malpractice liability protection with tail coverage; work schedule Monday‑Friday 8:00 am‑4:30 pm;
no Physician Employment Contract and no significant restriction on moonlighting.
