Job Title: Social Media Content Creator.
Location: Hybrid – Troy, MI or Long Beach, CA. Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor employment visas for this opportunity at this time.

- Be an idea driven creator who understands our brand ethos and works with the marketing team to test, learn, and optimize content to build awareness.
- Stay on top of ever-changing social media trends, pop culture references, and relevant conversations in the social space.
- Pitch social ideas and concepts to the broader marketing team.
- Conceptualize, film, edit, write, and create engaging content for various social platforms, including Tik Tok, Instagram, Facebook, Reddit, and more.
- Shoot high-quality audio, video and stills using iPhone, gimbal, and wireless mic with strong composition, lighting, and clarity.
- Collaborate with the creative and production teams to develop ideas that are native to each platform and align with brand objectives and standards.
- Author and draft copy for social posts, ensuring the right tone of voice in collaboration with the creative department.
- Execute video editing and photo retouching.
- Manage and organize digital assets (raw footage, photos, edited files) to maintain an efficient workflow.
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, or related field.
- 5-7 years of experience in video content creation for social media at a consumer-facing brand or agency or similar experience.
- In-depth knowledge of social media platforms, best practices, algorithms, and trends.
- Passion for staying updated on emerging trends in social media and digital content creation.
- Keen eye for design, art direction, and styling.
- Collaborative work ethic.
- Experience creating content ranging from product shots to storytelling.
- Experience shooting and lighting video content and still photography.
- Proficient with Adobe, Canva, Cap Cut and other editing/design software.
- Nice to have:
Comfortable stepping in as talent, if needed. - Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment, coordinating multiple projects with hard deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to adapt brand voices and visual identities to videos.
- Ability to manage projects from ideation to production, through post-production and delivery.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and self-starter with a positive attitude.
- Willingness to come into the office a few days a week and travel to content shoots to collect social content.
- Enjoys cars and a passion for automotive culture.

Los Angeles, CA base salary range – $81,000 to $101,000. The stated pay scale reflects the range that Slate reasonably expects to pay for this position. The actual pay rate and pay grade depend on factors including experience, skills, education, internal equity, marketplace factors, and employer practices. In addition to base pay, Slate offers short-term and long-term incentive programs (401k match, annual bonus, and company equity, where eligible), along with a robust offering of benefits and wellness options (HSA/FSA).
