Procurement and Customer Service Specialist– National Emblem – Los Angeles, CA
$20+ per hour, commensurate with experience

National Emblem was acquired by new owners in 2024 and is looking for an energetic, motivated cross-team collaborator to support our sales and customer service teams as well as coordinate procurement functions for the organization. This role includes partnering with National Emblem’s existing customers, specifically automotive, to assist with recurring orders, new designs, and purchasing needs, working with National Emblem’s existing vendors for a variety of customers in various industries, and sourcing new vendors for existing and new products.

- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in customer, service, purchasing, procurement, or sourcing role
- Experience working directly with vendors and suppliers
- Strong computer skills – proficient in MS Office and ERP and/or CRM systems
- Excellent references
- Strong collaborator; enjoys teamwork
- Experience with SAP Business One
- Apparel, textile, retail, promotional products, automotive, or sports industry experience
- Experience with overseas/offshore vendors and suppliers
- Work experience in an ISO 9001 certified organization
- Engage with automotive customers on a regular daily basis to support ordering and purchasing needs
- Create quotes and sales orders for recurring orders and new designs
- Collaborate with internal design team and overseas vendors for new, custom designs
- Directly engage with existing overseas and domestic vendors for direct and indirect purchasing
- Create and issue purchase orders for custom products based on customer designs
- Develop expertise in threads, backing, colors, borders, etc. to ensure purchased products meet exact specifications for customer designed emblems based on detail sheets
- Create and issue purchase orders for inventory products, including automotive stock and sports collectible stock
- Analyze and determine purchasing strategy for inventory needs based on automotive customers’ monthly forecasts and daily release schedule
- Create and issue purchase orders for raw materials, office supplies, support services, etc.
- Coordinate with freight carriers, including UPS and Fed Ex
- Manage inbound international shipments and keep sales and customer service teams apprised of
- Negotiate rates/terms
- Analyze costs and keep management team apprised of trends, including customs/duties/tariff increases, etc.
- Source new materials and products
- Source new vendors for existing products and new products
- Develop purchasing strategies to ensure best possible timing and cost combinations
- Manage vendor KPIs and reports cards
- Other administrative duties as assigned
