- Identifies problems and recommends corrections; prioritizes and conducts follow‑ups on corrections regarding areas of non‑compliance or potential non‑compliance.
- Advises corporate and facility management regarding procedural and operational measures to be taken to correct or minimize non‑compliant activities.
- Prepares and maintains the required environmentally related plans and procedures.
- Prepare weekly reports, documents and compliance status reports as required by regulatory agencies for corporate or facility management.
- Apply for original permits and maintain a schedule for renewals, reporting and provisions of all required environmentally related permits.
- Attend workshops, seminars, training courses and professional development programs and monitor regulatory changes for the purpose of insuring compliance with upcoming changes in federal, state and local rules and regulations.
- Provide responses to compliance, sales, field personnel and customers concerning federal, state and local environmental regulations.
- Perform audits of internal and external facilities to ensure effectiveness of compliance programs.
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental science/engineering or related.
- 5 to 7 years of experience.
- Alternative combinations of education and experience may be accepted in lieu of degree.
- Strong communication (written, verbal & listening) & interpersonal skills.
- Prior experience in chemical plants or refineries is helpful, but not necessary.
- Mechanical aptitude & problem‑solving abilities a plus.
- High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
