Seasonal Tax Preparer

Description

A CPA office in Long Beach providing tax, bookkeeping, and payroll services to a variety of businesses is seeking an individual with recent tax experience for a temporary, in-office position. This role supports tax preparation, accounting, bookkeeping, and payroll functions while working closely with management, staff, and clients during the busy tax season. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment while also being able to work independently.

Confidentiality and professionalism are essential.

Responsibilities

+ Prepare individual and business tax returns (1040, 1065, 1120, 1120S)

+ Enter, review, and finalize returns using Lacerte Tax Software

+ Review client documentation for accuracy and completeness

+ Identify potential tax issues and escalate as needed

+ Ensure compliance with federal and California tax regulations

+ Meet deadlines in a fast-paced, seasonal environment

+ Maintain strict client confidentiality

Requirements

Qualifications

+ Prior tax preparation experience in a CPA firm or public accounting environment

+ Lacerte experience required

+ Strong knowledge of federal and California tax rules

+ Detail-oriented, organized, and deadline-driven

+ Available to work fully in-person, Monday-Friday from February through April

Preferred

+ EA, CPA, or CPA candidate
