The Strategic Management organization is part of Schwab’s broader Strategy & Innovation enterprise and focuses on supporting the design and delivery of critical Schwab-wide initiatives. The Manager role will oversee the continual investment portfolio planning process, translating corporate strategic priorities into internal technology and business investments, coordinating across the firm, consolidating data, performing data‑driven analysis, and managing change across multiple stakeholder groups.
WhatYou Will Do
- Develop change management strategy and plan to execute.
- Support quarterly planning forums and Executive Council reviews.
- Organize and synthesize large quantities of information to generate insights through both quantitative and qualitative analysis.
- Develop high‑impact presentations and email communication.
- Build a robust understanding of enterprise and technology priorities and constraints to bridge considerations across stakeholders.
- Collaborate with Corporate Strategy to lead the firm‑wide annual strategic planning cycle.
- Establish relationships with stakeholders across the firm and cultivate linkages with financial planning, strategic priorities, and technology communities.
- Exercise professionalism, integrity, and prudent judgment in handling confidential strategic, financial, and other sensitive information.
- High visibility working with the CEO and Executive Council on various deliverables.
- Opportunity to work with executives across the organization on key investment decisions.
- Develop credibility and rapport with technology and business partners, learning about Schwab’s clients and businesses.
- Birds‑eye view of how large organizations manage strategic planning and investment management.
- Minimum of 3 years of business strategy–related experience in consulting and internal strategy groups, and a minimum of 5 years total experience with technology/product management.
- Top‑notch analytical and conceptual problem‑solving skills.
- Expertise in MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and Word.
- Experience with change management, strategic planning, and program management.
- Superior written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated ability to develop materials for C‑suite executives.
- Highly detail‑oriented, organized, and comfortable dealing with ambiguity in a dynamic fast‑moving environment.
- Experience supporting large programs, including oversight of complex initiatives spanning multiple groups and organizations.
- Acumen in brokerage, wealth management, individual banking, and technology development & planning.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Direct technology experience, including supporting technology transformation projects.
- Prior experience in financial services.
- Experience architecting large enterprise program offices from the top down.
- Curiosity & passion for research, industry trends, strategy development, technology, etc.
- Thrives on initiating, building, and cultivating strong authentic relationships inside and outside the group.
- Master’s degree.

We believe in the importance of in‑office collaboration and fully intend for the selected candidate for this role to work on site four days per week in the specified location.
