The Conservation Volunteers
The main activities the Project Assistant will undertake are as follows:
- Help to grow vegetable plants, including planting, care and watering.
- Help to construct wooden planters for the Acorn Farm I Can Grow project.
- Deliver compost and planters to Acorn Farm participants across the Derry City Council area.
- Help to deliver Horticulture Training courses to garden owners and the general public.
- Help to promote the project.
Experience
Applicants should ideally have relevant experience in horticulture and growing plants or vegetables growing. Experience of working with volunteers and the public is also helpful. The delivery work involves van driving and significant manual handling.
These are temporary roles for 3 months working from mid-March to mid-June 2026
A full, clean or near clean UK driving licence is required for this post, which has been held for a minimum of one year.
To fulfil the role, you must be resident in the UK and have the right to work in the UK.
