Overview

The Conservation Volunteers – Team Leader role leads our Northwest operational team from Brooke Park, Derry, guiding ambitious plans across Counties Londonderry, Tyrone, Fermanagh and cross-border projects.

• Lead and coordinate a complex portfolio of projects to improve community open spaces and involve local people.
• Manage tree planting projects and habitat management across a network of nature reserves and country parks.
• Support partnerships and initiatives such as the Acorn Fam Project and the "I Can Grow" growing vegetables at home initiative, which supports 400 households per year.
• Drive projects to reduce health inequalities through therapeutic horticulture and community growing initiatives.

The role demands outstanding people leadership skills with the ability to build strategic partnerships to expand operations. Experience and understanding of working with volunteers and engaging volunteers from diverse backgrounds including youth, minority ethnic communities and corporate volunteers, is essential. Experience of leading a complex portfolio of projects is essential. Also experience in horticulture, land management or conservation work.

Team Leader of TCV’s Northwest operational team based at TCV’s Brooke Park property in Derry.

TCV’s Brooke Park base comprises an open plan office, a large training room, workshop, walled community garden with growing infrastructure, polytunnels, storage sheds and vehicle fleet.
