Warehouse Supervisor (Evening Shift) - Spider is advertising on behalf of our client, a leading Greek importer and distributor of the finest Greek food and drink. They are now looking for an experienced Warehouse Supervisor, or a motivated warehouse professional ready to step into a supervisory role, to join their operations team based in Bermondsey, Southwark, London (Spa Terminus).

They are seeking someone with experience working within a warehouse environment supplying Restaurants, Hotels, Delis, Retailers and Direct‑to‑Consumer customers. Experience with in food distribution, FMCG, or temperature‑controlled storage environments would be highly advantageous.

If you do not have direct food industry experience but are organised, reliable, hands‑on, and able to learn quickly in a fast‑paced operational environment, we would still like to hear from you.

About the role

The Warehouse Supervisor plays a critical role in ensuring the accurate, safe, and efficient receipt, storage, preparation, and dispatch of products. Acting as a key link between Warehouse, Logistics and Delivery teams, the role ensures operational standards, food safety compliance, and customer service levels are consistently maintained.

Key responsibilities
  • Receive, check, unload and store inbound deliveries safely, reporting any shortages, damages or discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate, clearly labelled and well‑organised stock in line with food safety and storage requirements.
  • Apply FEFO (First Expiry, First Out) stock rotation and monitor quantities and expiry dates.
  • Move stock between warehouse locations and complete regular partial stock takes.
  • Ensure sufficient packaging materials and operational supplies are always available.
  • Accurately pick, pack and prepare customer orders and promotional sample packs to required quality standards.
  • Stage and load orders for dispatch, liaising with delivery drivers to resolve shortages or substitutions.
  • Complete temperature checks and maintain accurate inventory, food safety and operational records.
  • Maintain a clean, safe warehouse environment and ensure equipment is used and stored correctly in line with health & safety procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with warehouse and logistics teams, supporting wider operations during busy periods and daily handovers.
  • Supervise those working alongside you on the evening shift.
About You
  • Organised & Detailed:
    You have a sharp eye for accuracy and can manage stock levels effectively.
  • Reliable:
    You are punctual, self‑motivated, and thrive under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Physically Capable:
    You are fit and able to perform regular lifting and moving of heavy or bulky items in a warehouse environment (including refrigerated areas).
  • Tech‑Savvy:
    Proficient in Microsoft Office and comfortable using Warehouse Management Systems.
  • Bonus Points:

    Previous experience in stock control, food handling hygiene, or a forklift licence.
  • Neat appearance and good personal hygiene
  • Able to prepare and pack products to a high standard for both direct to consumer orders and promotional samples
  • Positive attitude and self‑motivated, work well under pressure to meet deadlines
Working conditions
  • Warehouse‑based role including chilled and frozen storage areas
  • Exposure to varying temperatures and weather conditions
  • Regular manual handling and lifting
  • Extended periods standing and moving
  • Occasional outdoor work when loading/unloading vehicles
Working hours

Location:

Bermondsey, London (Spa Terminus)

Initial Training Schedule (2-4 weeks):
Monday - Friday, 06:00 - 15:00

Post‑Training

Schedule:

Sunday: 17:00 - 00:00
Monday - Wednesday: 15:00 - 00:00
Thursday: 17:00 - 00:00
