Whether your role is to improve process efficiency, monitor aircraft movements or oversee safety measures, you’ll be vital to the continuing smooth running of our airport.
Job Description- Salary: £35,901 plus a shift allowance, rising to £39,817 after 1 year’s service.
- Shifts:
Early/late shifts (4 on, 4 off) Monday to Sunday.
- Driving and operating a varied fleet of specialist and complex vehicles and machinery in support of the airfield operation
- Maintaining accurate records relating to driving hours and regulations e.g., tachographs and logbooks.
- Carrying out a range of airfield housekeeping tasks, taking proactive action to reduce risks to aircraft from foreign object damage and risks to airfield colleagues from slips, trips and falls.
- Undertaking inspections of our vehicles, ensuring they are serviceable and safe.
- Responding first to safety events ensuring details are logged correctly and escalated as necessary; making positive interventions with airfield community members to prevent accidents and maintain compliance.
- Current LGV licence to C category
- Ability to hold and maintain a “M” class Airside Driving Permit
- Ability to operate complex vehicles and specialist equipment
- Experience of operating in a complex, safety-critical, procedures-driven operational environment
- Great communication skills
- Being a motivated self-starter, having the ability to work alone in a physically demanding role
- A collaborative, positive outlook; a desire to continuously improve safety and efficient operations. A “don’t walk by” attitude is essential.
- Knowledge and understanding of transport regulations
- Knowledge of safety culture and safety management systems
- Knowledge of risk assessments
- Experience of loading and slinging requirements
