Hourly Rate: £17.21 per annum

40 hours per week, working 5 days a week Monday to Friday

As an HGV Driver/Loader at FCC Environment, you will provide essential waste collection services for the Havering contract. You will be expected to carry out all tasks associated with waste collection, including manual loading and vehicle driving duties, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in line with contractual standards.
This vacancy is for a full time position, working 5 days per week.

• Driving HGV/LGV vehicles safely and responsibly
• Loading and collecting waste as part of a crew
• Following health & safety procedures and wearing required PPE
• Using handheld devices to record job progress
• Providing a polite and professional service to the public

• Drive safely, lawfully and efficiently, following road traffic legislation and adapting to weather/road conditions
• Complete daily vehicle safety/defect checks (paper book or electronic system)
• Carry out basic daily maintenance and replace consumables as required
• Ensure the vehicle is never overloaded
• Report all vehicle defects immediately
• Use tachograph/logbook and comply with Drivers Hours legislation
• Follow all accident procedures and report incidents promptly

• Physically fit for manual work
• Motivated, reliable and safe in approach
• Works well independently and in a team
• Holds HGV/LGV Cat C, DCPC, and Digital Tacho Card

• Experience in waste or similar manual outdoor work
• Basic Health & Safety and Manual Handling awareness
• Understanding of waste collection processes
• Trustworthy and professional
