YOUR ROLE
Our Air Freight Operations team based in Hounslow have an exciting opportunity for a skilled Air Import Supervisor where you will oversee all aspects of our air import operations, ensuring efficiency and compliance for the flow of goods across borders. This amazing role will see you managing a team of import coordinators, collaborating with vendors and customs authorities, and implementing strategies to streamline the import process.
This role will see you working Monday to Friday, from 9am to 5:30pm on site at Hounslow, we are ideally looking for someone who has a strong background in air freight, import regulations, customs compliance, and logistics management. This amazing role offers a salary of up to £40,000 per annum, 26 days annual leave plus bank holidays, pension and so much more.
WHATARE YOU GOING TO DO?
Reporting into the Air Operations Manager, you will take responsibility for:
- Supervise and guide a team of circa 6 import coordinators, delegating tasks, providing training, support, and performance feedback.
- Oversee the coordination and execution of the importation process, including managing documentation.
- Ensure compliance with all import regulations and customs requirements.
- Keep up to date with changes in international trade laws and ensure accurate import duties and taxes are applied.
- Build and maintain relationships with suppliers, shipping companies, and customs brokers to ensure smooth and timely deliveries.
- Address any issues or delays in the import process, working closely with internal teams and external partners to find quick solutions.
- Identify and implement cost save initiatives for every shipment.
- Support the Operations Manager with ad-hoc tasks and projects as and when needed.
- Proven air freight experience gained within an import enviornment
- Strong understanding of international trade regulations, customs laws, and shipping procedures.
- Previous experience of leading, supervising or managing a team within a fast-paced air freight or freight forwarding environment.
- Excellent communicator, able to bring strong working relationships both internally and externally.
- Strong attention to detail, problem solving, organistional and multitasking skills.
- Excellent IT skills capable of using freight systems (Cargo Wise) and MS Office packages.
