Join BA Cityflyer as we build a better future for aviation. This role is part of our Direct Entry Programme (DEP), designed to fast‑track you to a Captain position within 12‑18 months, subject to vacancy and performance.
As a First Officer you will deliver an exceptional flight experience for business and leisure customers, operating Embraer 190 from London City Airport on day trips, night stops and charter flights in a seven‑day‑a‑week dynamic operation.
Responsibilities- Fly Embraer 190 on diverse routes, upholding the highest professional and safety standards.
- Operate flights 7 days a week, maintaining a flexible roster of day, night and charter missions.
- Deliver outstanding customer service to a high‑value, sophisticated client base.
- Engage in continuous professional development and training through the DEP pathway.
- Progress toward a Captain role within 12‑18 months, meeting all performance and competency requirements.
- UK‑issued CAA ATPL (A), or equivalent fATPL (A), MPL or EASA licence meeting CAA conversion routes (3, 4, 5 or
6). - Minimum 2,500 total flight hours, including at least 1,000 hours on multi‑crew aircraft; recent type experience within the last 6 months.
- Right to live and work in the UK.
- Height between 1.57 m (5’2”) and 1.91 m (6’3”). Pilots taller than 1.91 m may apply after a functional‑check assessment.
- ICAO English language proficiency level 6.
- Valid passport with at least 12 months before expiry.
- Valid Class 1 medical certificate, valid for 6 months after joining.
- E‑Jet type rating desirable but not essential.
- Permanent contract – full terms and conditions effective from day one.
- Starting salary of £67 799 (basic pay plus non‑pensionable pay) plus approx. £11 700 in allowances.
- After successful command course completion, salary increases to £105 651 plus approx. £16 300 in allowances, with annual incremental pay on a 15‑point scale.
- Fully funded type rating – bond attached.
- 30 days annual leave, increasing to 35 days after seven years, including single‑use leave days.
