London Energy operates the second largest waste contract in the UK, handling and processing nearly 750,000 tonnes of London’s waste every year. We have a dedicated team of people working across our various North London sites, making a positive difference to the environment and the local community.
By processing household waste at our facility, we produce enough waste from energy to power 80,000 homes every year and recycle 70% of items through our Reuse and Recycling Centres.
About the RoleAs an HGV class 2 Driver at London Energy you will be responsible for servicing our reuse and recycling centres around North London. Transferring waste between our centres and our waste transfer stations in Islington, Wembley and the Eco Park in Edmonton.
We provide you with a truck that is fitted with the latest safety equipment and provide training that will give you the skills and confidence to drive around London in a safe and courteous manner, positively reflecting London Energy’s highly focussed safety culture.
With opportunities to train as a transport planner or to become a HGV class 1 driver, London Energy is a great company for development and progression.
You will need the following:
- Previous HGV class 2 Driving experience (within the waste industry and/or on a hooklift vehicle is a bonus!)
- Hold a valid Driver Qualification Card (DQC)
- You must be able to work Monday - Sunday on a 10 week rotating shift patter. Earliest shifts starting at 6:00 and latest shifts ending at 16:30
- Hold a valid digi-tacho card
- Have a positive attitude, be approachable and reliable!
- FORS Safe Urban Driving Training would be preferred but not essential
