Logistics Operations Coordinator – People First Supply Chain

Location & Employment DetailsCentral London, hybrid (four days in office, one day remote, five days in the office during probation). 12‑month fixed‑term contract. Working hours Monday to Friday, 9:00‑17:00.
About the Role- The Logistics Operations Coordinator will be the internal forwarder for the London office, coordinating logistics activities with providers, customers and suppliers in close collaboration with China and Germany offices.
- Manage both operational and commercial aspects of shipping files to ensure efficient physical movement of goods from collection to delivery.
- Act as the independent cost centre, negotiating freight rates and offering logistics services to other departments and third‑party customers.
- Place shipping bookings and ensure documentation complies with contract requirements.
- Monitor all shipments, keeping detailed records of cargo movements until delivery.
- Receive booking requests from desks or third‑party customers and record all shipping parameters in our in‑house SAP system.
- Plan shipments according to commercial parameters, place bookings with 3PL providers, receive and check booking confirmations, and confirm bookings to customers.
- Ensure Bills of Lading comply with requirements and track shipments to delivery, reporting bottlenecks and any issues as they arise.
- Record all final shipping data in the system before closing the file.
- Ensure timely and accurate invoicing and manage accounts receivables and payables.
- Experience with sea freight.
- In‑depth knowledge of shipping documentation and Incoterms.
- Ability to set priorities and work under pressure.
- Strong commercial acumen.
- Advanced Excel knowledge.
- Experience with project cargo.
- SAP experience is preferable.
