HUG is excited to be partnering with a product‑led, well‑funded startup building AI‑powered platforms that help enterprises automate complex workflows and deliver better customer experiences.

As a Senior Python / AI Engineer, you’ll be a key builder of the core product: designing and implementing backend systems, integrating modern AI models, and shaping the tools customers use to configure, monitor, and improve their AI‑powered workflows.

You’ll collaborate tightly with product, design, and other engineers to ship high‑quality features end‑to‑end, from discovery through launch and iteration.

• Design, build, and maintain Python services and APIs that power AI‑driven features and customer‑facing workflows.
• Integrate LLMs and AI frameworks (e.g. OpenAI, Hugging Face, Lang Chain or similar) into robust, production‑ready systems, including prompt design, evaluation, and monitoring.
• Build data and orchestration pipelines that support configuration, training, deployment, and analytics for AI‑powered workflows.
• Create AI‑powered tools and abstractions that let non‑technical teams manage sophisticated workflows without writing code.
• Develop dashboards, monitoring, and analytics that surface actionable insights on performance and user experience.
• Own features end‑to‑end: partner in discovery, shape technical architecture, implement, test, ship, and iterate based on real usage.
• Contribute to engineering best practices, code quality, and mentoring within the team as a senior individual contributor.

• 6+ years of software engineering experience, including significant time building product‑oriented backend or full‑stack systems.
• Strong proficiency in Python and experience building and scaling web services or APIs in a modern framework (e.g. FastAPI, Flask, Django).
• Hands‑on experience with AI/ML or LLM‑based products in production (LLM APIs, RAG pipelines, vector search, or similar).
• Proven ability to translate complex technical capabilities into simple, usable product experiences.
• Solid understanding of system design, performance, reliability, and observability.
• Collaborative mindset and clear communication skills; comfortable working closely with product, design, and customer‑facing teams.

• Experience building platforms, internal tools, or configuration/analytics products that became core customer‑facing surfaces.
• Background in conversational AI, agents, or multi‑channel customer experience products (chat, email, voice, SMS).
• Exposure to Type Script and modern frontend frameworks, and willingness to occasionally work across the stack.
• Experience in high‑growth startups or product teams where you’ve shipped quickly while maintaining high quality.
