Senior Backend Engineer - Diagnostics

Do Health is a mobile-first preventative health product built by a small, autonomous team within Voy. We operate as an independent startup with full autonomy and a modern tech stack - but with the backing and resources of an established company. Co-founded by Dr Rangan Chatterjee, we're on a mission to shift healthcare from treatment to prevention.

We’re building an app that combines regular blood tests, longitudinal health data, behaviour‑change principles and AI personalisation to help people make better lifestyle decisions over time.

We’re hiring a Senior Backend Engineer as an essential addition to our core technical team.

• Own major backend features end‑to‑end.
• Work closely with our lead engineer on architecture and technical direction.
• Make real product and technical decisions.
• Improve reliability, observability and foundations as the product scales.

• Have 5+ years of backend experience and strong fundamentals.
• Are very strong in Type Script.
• Are comfortable with ambiguity and making judgement calls.
• Use AI tools confidently and responsibly (not “vibe coding”).
• Have experience scaling a system to a high volume of users.

You don’t need health expertise and you don’t need our exact stack today. You do need to be autonomous, thoughtful and capable of shipping high-quality work without hand‑holding.

This role tends to resonate with people from excellent, fast‑moving teams (e.g. fintech, infra or product‑led companies), or engineers who’ve tried early‑stage startups and want momentum this time.
