Job Description & How to Apply Below
Location: Greater London

Geo Alpha is a research‑led trading business. Our algorithms are at the cutting edge of the machine learning opportunity frontier and stem from our roots in experimental science. We trade these signals using fully proprietary 24hr automated trading systems.

Our London team is currently looking to add a quantitative developer to our team. We are looking for experienced practitioners or relevant PhD grads with some industry experience to lead several key new projects that will ultimately underpin the evolution of the business. Previous experience in Object Orientated Programming as well as the development of data‑intensive workflows is required for this role.

As a small team with a flat hierarchy, we work together on projects ranging from researching, designing and implementing data‑driven trading strategies, to building the tools and infrastructure needed for fully automated trading across multiple asset classes.

Key aspects of the role include:
  • Designing, developing, and maintaining high‑quality trading infrastructure that supports business needs 24/7
  • Implementing robust, performant code to ensure timely flows of data and signals
  • Translating research findings into scalable, production‑grade code
  • Presenting work to colleagues and other stakeholders
  • Taking ownership as “point‑person” for specific strategies or markets
Essential skills required are:
  • Proven strong experience in Python development within data‑intensive production environments such as Machine Learning or Algorithmic Trading
  • Familiarity with financial markets and signal‑based strategies, with the ability to translate trading needs into technical features
  • Understanding of the design and development of enterprise‑level systems using OOP and microservices architecture
  • Experience with scientific computing and algorithm development
  • Awareness of software development lifecycle, CI/CD and the development in a shared codebase
