Full Stack Developer, Software Engineer
Overview
Lead Full Stack Engineer | Up to £120k + Equity | Hybrid (2–3 days per week in office – London or Bristol)
A fast-growing, tech-first climate company is looking for a Lead Full Stack Engineer to join its core engineering team and help shape the future of clean home energy in the UK. This is a hands-on leadership role. You’ll still write meaningful amounts of code, while also setting technical direction, mentoring engineers, and working closely with product and design to ensure the right things are built at the right time.
The team values strong engineering fundamentals, pragmatic decision-making, and real ownership. You’ll be joining a small, highly skilled group solving non-trivial, real-world problems that blend software, hardware, and physical constraints.
- Owning architecture and technical strategy for a core product domain
- Designing and building complex, cross-cutting full-stack solutions
- Writing high-leverage code across critical paths and foundational systems
- Identifying scaling risks, bottlenecks, and technical debt and driving solutions
- Mentoring engineers and developing technical leadership within the team
- Improving team processes, collaboration, and overall engineering quality
You don’t need experience with everything below, but you should have an appetite for full-stack ownership:
- Type Script, Java Script
- React, Tailwind, Konva
- Node.js, Prisma
- Postgre
SQL, PostGIS - Docker, Docker Compose
- Strong experience with modern JavaScript / Type Script
- Full stack development experience (frontend, backend, APIs)
- Relational databases and data modelling
- Solving ambiguous, real-world problems end to end
- Mentoring others or contributing to healthy engineering teams
- Product-minded and curious about real user problems
- Impact-driven, balancing quality with momentum
- Comfortable with ownership and accountability
