As a Senior Software Engineer at Deliveroo, your individual work contributes to achieving goals in multiple teams. You will work with your team, lead projects, and deliver results while reporting to managers and group leads.

• Improve code structure, architecture, and review code produced by your team. Lead project planning, anticipate dependencies and risks, and partner with other disciplines (PM, Experience).
• Simplify maintenance and operation of production systems, promoting visibility, operational readiness, and health of your team's systems.

• Lead from the front on technical execution, build relationships with other engineering teams, and identify collaboration opportunities.
• Break down large pieces of work, guide design and technical/implementation choices, and influence the roadmap within your team.
• Take an active role in the hiring process and conduct engineering interviews. Support colleagues' personal growth and encourage efficiency in their roles.

• Pride in readable, well‑designed, well‑tested software.
• Experience writing web‑based applications in any language, with interest in learning Go, Ruby/Rails, Python, Scala, or Rust.
• Familiarity with relational databases (Postgre
  
  SQL, MySQL).
• Experience at scale (20k rpm and above).
• Experience with No
  
  SQL data backends such as Redis, Dynamo
  
  DB, Elastic Search, Memcache.
