As an Engineering Manager within the Remittance Platform, you will lead the teams powering tens of millions of cross-border transactions each month. You will guide technical direction, elevate engineering quality, and support the growth of engineers while enabling reliable, scalable money movement for customers around the world.

This is a high-impact leadership role. You will partner closely with Product, Data, and Growth to drive outcomes, shape the architecture of distributed systems, and support the team in delivering secure, resilient, and efficient experiences for our global user base.

• Drive Technical Strategy: Guide architectural decisions, influence system design, and ensure scalable, reliable solutions.
• Raise Engineering Standards: Uphold high quality across implementation, testing, observability, and long-term maintainability.
• Mentor & Grow Talent: Support engineers and technical leads through structured coaching, feedback, and development plans.
• Align With Business Goals: Partner cross-functionally to prioritise work, clarify requirements, and deliver impactful outcomes.
• Enable Team Effectiveness: Remove blockers, bring clarity to ambiguity, and support strong decision-making across squads.
• Evolve Engineering Practices: Improve tooling, workflows, and processes to support long-term quality and velocity.
• Lead With Care: Conduct regular 1:1s, manage performance, and support engineers' growth and career progression.

• Impact-Oriented: You prioritise meaningful outcomes that improve product reliability and customer experience.
• Technically Strong: You bring deep experience in scalable distributed systems using Go Lang or Java.
• Influential Leader: You guide technical direction across teams through clarity, mentorship, and collaboration.
• Strategic Partner: You work effectively with Product, Data, and business leaders to align priorities.
• Growth-Focused: You are curious, adaptive, and excited about the potential of AI-enhanced engineering.

• Experience building and scaling backend systems in Go Lang or Java
  .
• Strong grounding in observability (logging, metrics, tracing).
• Experience designing and evolving RESTful APIs
  .
• Knowledge of Domain-Driven Design and modular architecture.
• Familiarity with async processing patterns (queues, coroutines,
  Kafka
  ).
• Strong SQL fundamentals, especially PostgreSQL
  .
• Experience with secure coding and containerisation (
  Docker
  ).
• Ability to design secure, efficient AWS architectures
  .
• Previous team-lead or engineering management experience.
