Playtech‘s Playtech Sports unit is looking for a proactive Software Developer - Trading with excellent communication and problem‑solving skills.

Your influential mission. You will…

• Develop our Sports book product and related applications
• Implement new features and maintain production code
• Design innovative solutions to complex problems
• Contribute meaningful peer code reviews
• Write and maintain unit tests
• Work within an agile development process

Components for success. You…

• Have 3+ years of professional experience with a modern programming language, with a strong preference for Python.
• Possess experience working with Linux or Unix systems
• Demonstrate a strong interest in Python and open‑source technologies
• Be able to learn on the job and show an aptitude for solving complex technical problems

• Solid experience with relational databases
• Experience working in a highly technical environment and solving complex problems
• Familiarity with microservices architecture, RESTful APIs, message brokers (e.g., Rabbit
  
  MQ), and No
  
  SQL data stores (e.g., Mongo
  
  DB)
• Experience developing applications using non‑blocking I/O (event loops)
• Proficiency in Python, particularly with the Tornado framework
• Hands‑on experience with Docker and Kubernetes
• Previous commercial experience in the gambling or sports betting sector
• A demonstrated passion for programming, reflected through a blog, portfolio, Git Hub, Bitbucket profile, or personal website

Playtech Sports specialises in the provision of online betting and gaming software to UK and global service providers. Headquartered in London and founded in 2005, our Gen Bet product provides operators with a robust and secure central customer management platform onto which any number of products can be added and managed. Sports book, Lottery, Pool Betting and Fixed‑Odds Games modules allow the operator to tailor their online service whilst a comprehensive back office and reporting suite provides powerful tools for event and market management.
