The role…
Within the Technology function, the Front end Developer will be a key member of the Product Development team responsible for delivering, enhancing, and ultimately owning Verdantix’s customer‑facing digital experiences. This includes the React‑based client portal currently built by an external agency, an upcoming software catalogue, and the embedding of new AI‑driven (RAG) capabilities into our customer‑facing platforms.
The role will focus on building high‑quality, fast, accessible, and secure front‑end applications that integrate with backend databases, new user‑permissioning systems, and AI‑enabled features. The Frontend Developer will play a pivotal role in all in‑house UI/UX implementations to create a cohesive, modern, and scalable front‑end platform across Verdantix products.
Salary opportunity is £50,000 - £55,000 depending on experience level, plus a very competitive quarterly bonus scheme.
This is a hybrid role which requires 3 days a week in the office during probationary period and will decrease to 2 days upon successful completion.

What You’ll Be Doing…- Build and maintain customer‑facing interfaces for the Verdantix client portal, data visualization tools, software catalogue, and future AI‑powered features.
- Translate UX wireframes, user flows, and visual designs into responsive and scalable React components.
- Implement design systems, UI libraries, and reusable component architectures to improve development velocity and consistency.
- Support the transition of the externally developed React portal to an internally maintained codebase.
- Work with backend engineering team to integrate the new in‑house permissioning and user management system into the UI (SSO‑like experience across all products).
- Collaborate with backend teams to consume APIs efficiently, ensuring performance and reliability.
- Manage and optimise the interface layer for content sourced from Sitefinity CMS.
- Embed semantic search, conversational UX, and other LLM‑enhanced interfaces delivered by the AI/RAG engineering team.
- Ensure AI experiences are intuitive, performant, and integrated seamlessly into the existing portal.
- Establish best practices for state management, component lifecycle, testing, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Work within an Azure‑based environment, including Azure Static Web Apps, Azure Dev Ops, Azure App Services, and related services.
- Participate in design and architecture reviews, suggesting improvements and advocating for scalable front‑end approaches.
- Provide input into long‑term frontend platform strategy and the technical roadmap.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 3+ years of professional front end development experience across the stack, with deep focus in React (preferred), or strong hands‑on experience with Vue/Angular but willing to shift to React.
- Experience with design systems, reusable component architecture, and frontend performance optimisation.
- Understanding of authentication patterns (OAuth, JWT, SSO flows) and ability to implement frontend integrations with customer authentication services.
- Experience deploying or operating applications within an Azure cloud environments.
- Familiarity with embedding AI or LLM driven UX patterns (semantic search, chat interfaces, or vector‑search UI).
- Experience with replatforming an externally built front end.
- Working in an organisation moving from CMS‑led to application‑led platforms.
- A proactive approach to problem solving, with initiative to take ownership of front end direction and drive improved UX for our customers.
