The LSEG Data & Analytics team is seeking an experienced, hands‑on Java developer to maintain existing backend order‑management applications and contribute to building the next‑generation trading platform.

• Demonstrate good knowledge of technologies and/or provide subject‑matter expertise in design, development and implementation.
• Produce expert code and deliver right solutions.
• Handle own workload and promote an inclusive and open culture.
• Act as point of contact in domain, showing depth of knowledge and developing understanding of other domains.
• Align technology strategy with own work, support strategy definition where appropriate.
• Develop understanding of market and LSEG’s commercial position.
• Own delivery of critical projects, work autonomously, mentor others, manage work of teammates as needed.
• Work with architects to decompose solutions into Epics and lead design work and planning for Epics.
• Adapt existing patterns to produce robust solutions.
• Build positive relationships with stakeholders, internal and external.
• Communicate complex/technical information clearly and concisely.
• Continue to develop technology and industry expertise through certifications and networking.

• Experience in financial industry designing and building buy‑or‑sell‑side trading systems.
• Strong understanding of system architecture and design.
• Proficiency in Java fundamentals (JVM, multithreading, collections, I/O, etc.).
• Experience with Java stack, API development, Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience writing clean code, unit tests, code reviewing and refactoring.
• Knowledge of SOLID, DRY, Law of Demeter.
• Understanding of low‑latency development challenges and techniques.
• Experience with Git, Gradle and Maven.
• Experience with Linux / Unix OS.
• Experience with Postgre
  
  SQL.
• Familiarity with Agile methodology.
• Over 15 years software engineering experience as an individual contributor.

• C++ development on Linux.
• Practical knowledge of TDD and CI/CD.
• Experience with Spring & Spring Boot, Redis and Apache Kafka.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms, ideally Microsoft Azure.
• Deliver service excellence on‑time, on‑scope and on‑budget.
• Strong verbal and written communication.
• Ability to work in a dynamic, focused, upbeat, evolving group.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
• Critical and creative thinking; problem‑solving focused.

• BS/MS in computer science or equivalent software engineering qualification.
