SAIF Autonomy is seeking an exceptional Senior Embedded Software Engineer to join our team building cutting‑edge Runtime Assurance systems for AI and robotics applications. You will play a vital role in developing the safety-critical embedded software components that ensure the safe and reliable operation of our solutions.

Responsibilities- Lead the design, development, and implementation of embedded software for SAIF Systems’ Runtime Assurance platform across various hardware architectures and real‑time operating systems.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and best practices for safety‑critical software development, such as DO-178C, ISO 26262 and IEC 61508.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, including hardware engineers, systems architects, and AI/ML experts, to integrate embedded software components seamlessly into the overall system.
- Conduct code reviews, performance optimizations, and thorough testing (unit, integration, and system‑level) to maintain the highest quality standards.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of the team’s software development processes, tooling and methodologies.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior embedded software engineers.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a related field. Or equivalent experience with a strong focus on embedded systems and real‑time software development.
- Extensive hands‑on experience in embedded software development, with a proven track record in delivering safety‑critical systems.
- Proficiency in C/C++ and experience with real‑time operating systems (e.g., FreeRTOS, VxWorks, QNX) and embedded hardware architectures (e.g., ARM, x86, FPGA).
- Solid understanding of software development methodologies, such as Agile, Continuous Integration and Test‑Driven Development.
- Experience with safety-critical software development standards and certification processes (e.g., DO-178C, ISO 26262, IEC 61508).
- Strong problem‑solving, analytical and debugging skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities, with the ability to work effectively in cross‑functional teams.
