Job Description

Global payments are complex and ever‑evolving. Our software engineers develop next‑generation technologies that help merchants boost acceptance, cut processing costs, and fight fraud while creating extraordinary customer experiences. As an Engineering Manager, you will lead high‑performing teams that work on cross‑product initiatives, championing a customer‑first philosophy and driving projects that support Checkout’s strategic goals.

Qualifications

  • Passionate about leadership and management of technical teams
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams on exciting, conceptually advanced problems
  • Proven ability to recruit, build, and develop talent
  • Expertise in designing scalable, high‑efficiency, highly available systems
  • Solid grasp of SDLC principles and architectural patterns for back‑end and front‑end components
  • Experience with CI/CD and Dev Ops practices
  • Cloud‑based application development experience (preferably AWS)
  • Enthusiasm for continuous learning and use of best tools
  • Payments or financial domain knowledge is a plus, but not required

Impact & Responsibilities

  • Manage and mentor a multidisciplinary team of engineers, helping them advance in their careers
  • Support design, development, and delivery of new product features across our multi‑stack ecosystem
  • Own architecture, solutions, and delivery of key projects with a focus on uptime, latency, and accuracy of API responses
  • Maintain team cohesion and health, participating in incident response, post‑incident investigation, and on‑call rotations
  • Shape long‑term infrastructure vision without over engineering, keeping standards for code, infrastructure, and documentation high
  • Assist in creating and maintaining user documentation
