Senior Full Stack Engineer

Ki is a fast‑growing algorithmic insurance carrier that uses machine learning and large language models to provide instant quotes for insurance brokers. We partner with Google and UCL and have become the fastest‑growing syndicate in the Lloyd’s of London market.

Our broker platform is the core technology behind our success. We’re building a multi‑disciplined team that spans software engineering, data science, and platform operations. We’re looking for a Senior Full‑stack Engineer to join our Development team.

• Build robust and scalable software for business‑critical web‑based applications
• Build eye‑catching, functional, efficient, and reusable web and mobile sites that drive these web applications
• Design, build, test, document and maintain APIs and integrations
• Ensure quality control using industry‑standard techniques such as automated testing, pairing, and code review
• Work with the Product team to understand end‑user requirements and translate them into an effective technical solution
• Document technical design and analysis work
• Assess current system architecture and identify opportunities for growth and improvement
• Build mock‑ups or prototypes to explore and troubleshoot new initiatives
• Work with Product and UX designers to review designs, implement features, and ensure top‑level user experience
• Explore new ideas and emerging technologies, develop prototypes quickly
• Uphold and advance the engineering team’s principles and ways of working
• Serve as a domain expert for one or more of Ki’s core technologies
• Mentor and coach colleagues in engineering and business domains

• Mid‑senior level engineer experience across a modern web stack
• Strong software engineering principles (SOLID, DRY, ER modelling)
• Professional experience with a server‑side language, ideally JVM based
• Professional experience building web‑based single‑page applications using React/Typescript or an equivalent
• Knowledge of front‑end development, building rich responsive UIs
• HTML/CSS experience, including layout, specificity, cross‑browser compatibility, and accessibility
• Comfortable working with cloud infrastructure, infrastructure‑as‑code, and standard logging/monitoring tools
• Experience with continuous integration (and ideally continuous delivery)
• Strong familiarity with build tools (e.g., Maven) and version control tools (e.g., Git/Git Hub)
• Experience working in agile teams (Scrum or Kanban) with regular ceremonies
• Experience using project management and workflow tools (e.g., Jira)
• Preferable background in fintech, insurtech or financial markets
