• Architect and build transformative user experiences within the Essential Operating System, using foundation models to create genuinely useful features.
• Prototype new interaction models across mobile, ambient computing, and multi‑device systems from 'zero to one'.
• Deep‑dive into the OS kernel and Android framework to build adaptive systems and recommendation engines that feel native to the device.
• Drive features from prototype to stable, production‑grade code, shipping at high velocity without compromising quality.
• Optimize for performance and battery life, ensuring our always‑on behavioural features respect system resources.
• Collaborate with researchers and designers to design interactions that inspire emotion rather than just function.
• Integrate emerging technologies, focusing strictly on user outcomes to keep Nothing a challenger brand.

• Technical Excellence:
  At least 2 years of industry experience delivering stable, scalable, beautifully engineered code.
• Deep Pragmatism:
  Ability to prototype quickly and build robust architecture for the long term.
• Ownership and Drive:
  History of launching and scaling products in fast‑paced environments without waiting for permission.
• System‑Level Curiosity:
  Passion for hacking mobile interfaces and the OS kernel, always seeking better ways to build.
• AI Fundamentals:
  Understanding of LLM mechanics and foundation models, eager to integrate them naturally into consumer‑facing products.
• Direct Communication:
  Plain, clear language that avoids jargon, enabling effective cross‑functional collaboration.
• Foundational Knowledge:
  Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent rigorous experience).
