Senior Graphics Programmer at Build A Rocket Boy
Overview
As our new Senior Graphics Programmer, you will help develop state‑of‑the‑art visuals for our existing and upcoming games. You will work closely with multiple departments to implement, maintain, and optimize engine and rendering features inside the Unreal Engine 5 codebase.
- Department: Engineering
- Location: Remote
- Deliver high‑quality, high‑performance rendering systems using appropriate abstraction levels, data structures, and algorithms.
- Investigate and improve performance and memory usage across all platforms (PC, consoles).
- Monitor performance and stability data from games and adapt Unreal Engine for our use cases.
- Test, document, and maintain the code systems you implement.
- Prioritize, plan, and manage the time of assigned tasks with oversight.
- Communicate clearly with other team members with minimal external help.
- Collaborate with other teams to deliver new features and solve complex technical problems.
- Report new problems, delays, and risks to the appropriate Lead/Director.
- Extensive C++ and graphics programming experience, including core system architecture and multi‑threaded programming techniques.
- Proficient in shader languages (HLSL, GLSL, CG, etc.).
- Solid understanding of modern GPU architecture and pipelines.
- Experience with at least one modern graphics API (Direct
X, Vulkan, console APIs). Preferably Direct
X 12. - Experience profiling and optimizing graphics systems and shaders in a large codebase.
- At least 4 years of experience as a graphics engineer on multi‑platform games for PC and consoles.
- Experience working with Unreal Engine.
- Experience with PS5 and Xbox Series consoles.
