. As a Software Engineering Manager, you’ll lead a team of talented engineers responsible for designing, building, and operating mission‑critical systems. You’ll balance people leadership, technical excellence, and delivery, while partnering closely with Product, Architecture, and other Engineering leaders.

Location:

London, England, United Kingdom. Salary: £95,000–£120,000 per year.

• Lead, coach, and grow a team of software engineers through regular feedback, mentoring, and career development.
• Drive the delivery of high‑quality, scalable, and secure software solutions in a regulated fintech environment.
• Partner with Product Managers and stakeholders to translate business goals into clear technical plans and execution.
• Own technical decision‑making within your team while contributing to broader architectural discussions.
• Foster a strong engineering culture focused on ownership, quality, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Ensure operational excellence through strong engineering practices (code reviews, testing, observability, incident management).
• Hire exceptional engineers and help scale the team thoughtfully as Tipalti grows.

• Proven experience as a Software Engineering Manager (or a senior tech lead transitioning into management).
• Strong background in building and operating production‑grade systems (e.g., distributed systems, APIs, backend platforms).
• Experience leading teams using modern engineering practices (CI/CD, cloud infrastructure, automated testing).
• Ability to balance hands‑on technical understanding with people and delivery leadership.
• Excellent communication skills and experience working cross‑functionally.
• Passion for building inclusive, high‑performing teams.
