The Role

The PRS Placements Adviser is responsible for maximising the supply of suitable and affordable private rented homes for households in housing need, in line with Camden’s homelessness accommodation strategy and placement policy. You will support the delivery of the council’s private rented sector strategy by improving property standards, increasing supply, and ensuring tenants have a strong voice.

  • Arrange sustainable placements that meet agreed standards and support customer wellbeing and resilience.
  • Work collaboratively with Housing Options colleagues on discharging homelessness duties under the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017 and Localism Act 2011.
  • Provide high‑quality advice and assistance to customers and accommodation providers.
  • Ensure income‑generating schemes operate at maximum efficiency.
  • Identify and address the needs of vulnerable adults and children accessing the service.
  • Identify and respond to customers’ equalities needs.
  • Protect council resources by detecting and preventing fraud.

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to assess needs, identify risks, and support vulnerable households.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to meet targets and manage competing priorities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners.
  • Commitment to equality, safeguarding, and delivering high‑quality resident‑focused services.
