Overview

Are you a creative social media expert with a talent for making engaging content? Can you create compelling campaigns and craft posts that stand out? If so, we want to hear from you today. We're after a Social Media Officer to join our external communications team. Help us make a real difference to people with a learning disability in the UK, one post at a time.

The Social Media Officer role is a full time (37.5 hours per week) permanent position.

We are an equitable, diverse and inclusive organisation and we particularly welcome and encourage disabled applicants and those from the Black and Asian communities to apply for the role as they are under-represented within the workforce. We are fully flexible about where you work from, but we would love to see you in our London office once a week.

Responsibilities
  • Be on the lookout for the next trend and help to create and plan content, working alongside people with a learning disability, colleagues, external organisations and influencers.
  • Help us smash stigmas, generate support and encourage donations.
  • Help us make the most of reactive opportunities, media moments, and emerging trends.
  • Contribute to a rewarding environment where ideas are supported and developed to help you reach your full potential.
Benefits

Here at Mencap, we offer an impressive range of benefits designed to support and reward our employees. Our benefits package offers 32 days of paid holiday (including bank holidays, pro rata), along with perks such as discounts at leading high-street retailers, access to health cash plans, interest-free loans, and more. For details on what we have to offer, please see the attached document outlining all the fantastic benefits available to you as a member of our team.
