Team Leader – Job Share Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity to job share the Team Leader role at the CAMHS Enhanced Treatment Service (ETS). We welcome applications from experienced Nurses or other allied health professionals.

About the team

ETS is for young people aged 12‑18 who are presenting with a serious mental illness. We offer an alternative pathway for young people who have been admitted to inpatient treatment, as well as a supported discharge package for those leaving hospital.

We aim to reduce A&E presentations and hospital admissions, and offer the least restrictive interventions to provide consistent access to rapid, effective interventions, support and recovery – including crisis services. This includes better use of resources and investment to develop more local, community‑based services and support. The service has both an outreach and a community day service model.

The post will be based at the Maudsley Hospital in Camberwell and will move to the new PEARs Building when it opens at the Maudsley Site.

We are looking to appoint someone who is confident, assertive, resilient, and has a passion for improving the quality of care for young people and their families. We want someone who can respond to the team and young people’s needs flexibly, and who is passionate about learning, staff development, and wellbeing.

Responsibilities
  • Take day‑to‑day operational management responsibility in the planning, directing, and management of the CAMHS Enhanced Treatment Service and the staff and establishment.
  • Ensure service access and delivery is efficient, effective, evidence‑based, needs‑led, and service‑user and carer focused.
  • Provide clear and competent leadership, in partnership with the Service Manager and Deputy Team Lead, to ensure timely treatment and intervention by well‑led and motivated staff that promotes safety and achievement for all children and young people.
About the location

Our Trust headquarters is located at Denmark Hill, less than 5 minutes from the train station (zone
2). We also provide services and operate across other locations, such as the London boroughs of Croydon, Lambeth, Lewisham, and Southwark; and substance misuse services for residents of Bexley, Lambeth, Greenwich, and Wandsworth.

Benefits

We are committed to ensuring our staff get the most out of their benefits package and understand the importance of a healthy work‑life balance. There is an extensive range of excellent benefits for you and your family. We want you to feel like you are part of a close‑knit team at SLaM – it’s important to us that you feel valued and appreciated.

That is why we have a comprehensive benefits package on offer.

The full job description provides an overview of the key tasks and responsibilities of the role, and the person specification outlines the qualifications, skills, experience, and knowledge required. For both overviews please view the Job Description attachment with the job advert.
