About

The Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join a strong, dynamic and specialist team working as part of an internal resource for the conducting of all court directed and Public Law Outline parenting capacity assessments (PCA). We are on a journey of development and expansion. The Team consists of 4 social workers, 2 senior practitioners and 2 outreach workers. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced social worker to join our PCA team.

The PCA Team conducts comprehensive assessments of children and their families to inform case planning and intervention strategies. This may involve observing parent-child interactions, conducting interviews, and gathering information from various sources.

The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the team’s objectives and contributing to positive outcomes for children and families. The ideal candidate should have experience working with vulnerable children, young people, and their families, including undertaking specialist Parent Assess. They should be knowledgeable in using a psychodynamic framework to understand family dynamics and support families in reaching their potential.

The Team

The Maya Angelou Rising Roots Family Hub provides independent parenting capacity assessments, outreach support, Family Group Conferences, the Caring Dad’s parenting programme as well as supervised family time for families with children. This is an exciting opportunity to join a strong, dynamic and specialist team working as part of an internal resource for the conducting of all court directed and Public Law Outline parenting capacity assessments (PCA).

We are on a journey of development and expansion. The Team consists of 4 social workers, 2 senior practitioners and 2 outreach workers.

About You

The successful candidate will have a degree in Social Work and a minimum of 3 years post qualifying work experience. We require individuals with extensive knowledge around safeguarding thresholds, good knowledge of child protection, safeguarding procedures, and the ability to help to continue to drive forward improvements.

You will bring strong analytical and communication skills, completing high quality parenting capacity assessments. You have proven experience with adults or children and young people across linguistically and culturally diverse communities, including direct work with disabled children and young people at times of change and loss, demonstrating cultural competence and rigorous safeguarding practice.
