Location: Greater London
Social Worker - Referral and Assessment
Kingston and Richmond
Up to £37 per hour
Achieving for Children (AfC) is a community interest company that delivers children’s services for Kingston and Richmond Councils. Our Referral and Assessment Team is the first point of contact for children and families in need of support. We work directly with families in times of crisis to prevent the escalation of concerns, focusing on new referrals, child protection, and initial court proceedings.
The Role
As a Social Worker in our team, you will be responsible for undertaking child protective investigations and managing an allocated caseload. You will act as a champion for the voices of children and young people, ensuring their needs are at the heart of every decision.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conducting strategy discussions and chairing complex meetings.
* Managing Child in Need (CIN) planning and initial child protection conferences.
* Undertaking court work, including writing statements and care planning for Emergency Protective Orders if required.
* Using the Signs of Safety framework to guide assessments and interventions.
* Producing accurate reports and maintaining high-quality records in accordance with local policy.
Requirements:
* Degree-level qualification in Social Work.
* Active Social Work England registration.
* Successful completion of the Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE).
* Strong analytical and planning skills for assessing complex needs.
* Ability to work flexibly and collaboratively in an agile environment.
