Social Care Worker – Secondary SEN School

Full‑time | Term‑time (plus inset where required)
Competitive salary dependent on experience

Looking for a role where care, consistency and compassion genuinely change lives?

Do you want to support young people beyond the classroom, not just within it?

Ready to work in a specialist school where relationships matter as much as results?

A welcoming and well‑established secondary SEN school is seeking a dedicated Social Care Worker to join its multidisciplinary support team. This role is ideal for someone with experience or a strong interest in social care, youth work, mental health or SEN support, who wants to make a lasting difference to young people with complex needs.

The school supports pupils with a range of additional and complex needs, which may include ASD, SEMH, learning difficulties and social, emotional or behavioural challenges. Many pupils require structured, therapeutic support to help them regulate emotions, develop independence and engage positively with school life.

The Role

As a Social Care Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils’ emotional wellbeing, behaviour and personal development, working closely with teaching staff, therapists and families.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Providing pastoral and emotional support to students on a 1:1 and small‑group basis
  • Supporting pupils with behaviour regulation, routines and life skills
  • Implementing care plans, risk assessments and behaviour support strategies
  • Building trusting, consistent relationships with young people
  • Supporting transitions, break‑times and unstructured parts of the day
  • Liaising with families, social workers and external agencies where appropriate
  • Maintaining accurate records and contributing to safeguarding processes
The School Offers:
  • A supportive, experienced SEN team and strong leadership
  • Clear systems, training and ongoing professional development
  • A calm, structured and pupil‑centred environment
  • The opportunity to be part of a genuinely collaborative, multidisciplinary team
  • A role where your work has real, visible impact

This position would suit candidates from backgrounds in care, residential support, youth work, mental health services or SEN education.

If you are committed to supporting vulnerable young people and want a meaningful, school‑based role
, we would love to hear from you.

Please send your CV and a cover letter to Ryan at KPI Education to apply.
Applications will be reviewed as they are received.
